For many years, floor retailers have been explaining the benefits of an engineered wood floor over a solid one to customers all over the country.
And it is true, Engineered floors do have plenty of benefits!
Not only been suitable in rooms with underfloor heating, concrete sub-floors, kitchens, conservatories, garden rooms and orangeries; there is a lot of choice out there for you to pick from.
But what about the good old traditional solid oak floors? They are still stunningly beautiful, with loads of natural character offering a genuine natural look and feel.
There's still loads of situations that a solid wood floor is suitable for installation: lounges, dining rooms, bedrooms, snugs and games rooms. Plenty of homes in England still have timber subfloors, making them ideal for a Solid wood floor.
With solid floors having only 1 Layer of wood, they are going to last forever, with most being able to be sanded back at least 5 times. (but you never will, the finishes these days are designed to last!)
At Timber Floor Studio, we have a large choice of both Solid and Engineered Wood Floors. Sometimes a solid floor isn't the best option and we will advise you if that's the case, but when it is suitable...….why not go for it and embrace the traditional way of Wood flooring.
